Oil colour brushes are generally made from different types of hair, Hog, Sable and Synthetic hair. Hog brushes are used for thick viscous paints. Sable and synthetic brushes are used when the painter needs more control when the colour has been thinned down with solvents.
Remember that being an artist means being creative with all of you painting tools. These categories are only a guide to what paint is suitable for each brush. Don’t be afraid to use your brush with any paint/medium to create your unique finish.
Please be aware not all styles and sizes shown on the maker’s websites are imported into New Zealand. Please contact The Drawing Room if you have any questions in regards to availability.
