Linen is a stronger and longer lasting fibre than cotton and is preferred by many artists because the texture of the surface can be seen and even incorporated into the way the painted layers are built.
Heavy duty refers to the depth of the stretcher bar, which the canvas has been stretched around. Heavy duty - 1.5” deep x 2” edge.
