Gold and Silver Leaf

Gold and silver leaf are made by rolling thin sheets of pure gold, alloyed with a small amount of silver, copper or other metal, in presses and placing the thin sheets between vellum sheets, and finally gold beaters' skin, and flattening them out with hammers. It forms an important part of Framing and it is employed in general woodworking, cabinet-work, decorative painting and house ornamentation.
Gold leaf size/gilding paste is a glue designed to be used with gold and silver leaf. A fine layer is pasted to the surface of the object being gilded which allows the leaf to adhere . It does not damage or tarnish the leaf.

Sheet size 14cm x 14cm
